What Does Japanese Knotweed Look Like?

Please find some examples of surveys and treatments carried out over the last few months. This is what Japanese knotweed looks like however it can be mistaken for other plants and shrubs too. That’s why it’s important to speak with an expert to give you peace of mind and to get answers quickly.

Japanese Knotweed stems will reach heights of 2-3 metres in the summer with the stem being hollow with nodes that make the stem resemble bamboo. The leaves will be green in colour appearing from zig-zag plant growth and at this time of year, the Japanese Knotweed produces a dense canopy of foliage which deprives our own native plants of sunlight. In late summer the plant will start to produce white flowers.
