Identifying Japanese Knotweed Leaves

Japanese Knotweed leaves resemble the tip of an arrow

Japanese Knotweed Leaves initially emerge from the ground in the spring, red in colour and resembling a tip of an arrow.

The leaf will gradually increase in size and change colour to green, eventually showing leaves 10-15cm long with a flat base and heart shaped leading to a point.

One of the easiest ways to identify Japanese Knotweed is to look at the leaves and you will see the zig-zag stem.
